Want gorgeous suppleness and fullness back in your lips and smile lines? We are now offering an injectable filler that puts a hold on the aging process called Volbella. Our board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Carlos Mata, a.k.a. Dr. Scottsdale, can inject Volbella into the lips and area around the mouth to give back the natural look of lips with a more defined appearance, treat commissures and marionette lines, and enhance your cupid bow in the middle of your upper lip. With a quick injection of this innovative new drug, Volbella can lift the skin with less post-injection swelling, and has a longer-lasting formula than other competing dermal fillers for up to a year. If you would like to be considered for this new injectable at Phoenix, AZ office, please call and schedule a consultation.
During your private consultation with Dr. Mata, he will discuss your medical history, medication lists, and analyze your desired treatment area before making recommendations for Volbella injections. Patients must:
Be 21-years-of-age or older (Volbella is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration for your patients under the age of 21)
Not have severe allergies (an allergy test may be necessary before injection)
Not be taking immunosuppressive or blood-thinning medications
With Volbella injections in the lip, we can achieve a natural-looking lip appearance that has a silky sheen finish in about 15 – 30 minutes in our office. Different lip shapes are achievable through a variety of filling techniques in different quantities. The injection site will be cleansed, and apply a topical numbing cream (especially if you are worried about the pain). This is not a painless injection (more of a stinging sensation), however, Volbella is also blended with lidocaine as well for this reason. It may take up to a week for proper healing.
Once you have had your injection, you may expect some redness and slight swelling in the treatment area. We recommend that you not have any other facial treatments (chemical peel or laser treatment), limit strenuous exercise, stay out of the sun, and maintain a healthy diet (no drinking alcohol) for the first 24 hours. If you do wish to have other facial rejuvenation treatments, please inform the administrator that you have had Volbella injections to avoid damage to the treatment area.
If you are experiencing side effects from your Volbella injections after 30 days, such as bruising, bumpy skin, pain, severe swelling, skin discoloration, itching, or hardness under the skin, please contact your plastic surgeon's office to report it.
