What is BodyTite?

Not all cosmetic treatments are invasive or involve huge, surgical transformations that require intensive recoveries. If you are looking to make more subtle improvements to your appearance, many patients have opted for a minimally-invasive procedure, BodyTite, to attain a more tightened up, sleeker, smoother and more contoured body shape. BodyTite is one of the most effective ways of achieving this.

What is BodyTite?

BodyTite is a form of liposuction that both focuses on the removal of excess fat from the body and simultaneously tightening the skin so that it more closely clings to the new contours, creating better definition and enhancing the results of the treatment.

The BodyTite process is a form of aspiration which is characterized by heating the patient’s fat cells using radio frequency energy and melting them so that the fat inside liquefies and is more easily removed via suction. In addition to this, the radio frequency energy heats the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in order to reduce the appearance of fine lines and loose skin to create healthier, stronger, and smoother skin which helps the skin to adhere more closely to the natural contours of the body, creating a more slimline appearance.

What areas of the body can be treated using BodyTite?

BodyTite has been shown to be effective in a number of different areas of the body, including those which are known for holding onto stubborn fat that doesn’t typically respond to diet and exercise. This includes the:

  • Abdomen
  • Thighs
  • Love handles
  • Lower back
  • Upper arms

If you are unsure whether BodyTite is a viable procedure to address the areas of your body that are giving you cause for concern, you can discuss this with Dr. Mata at your consultation.

The BodyTite procedure: overview

The BodyTite procedure is a minimally-invasive procedure. This means that it can be performed using just a local anesthetic. This will ensure that you won’t be in any discomfort during the treatment, but also that the effects of the anesthetic will wear off quickly. After preparing the area of your body where you are having BodyTite performed, new, sterilized equipment will be prepared for the procedure.

Small incisions are made into the target area through which the cannula to carry out the liposuction will be inserted. The radio frequency energy will liquefy the fat cells so that they can be easily vacuumed up the cannula and through the tube which deposits the fat into a container for disposal. The cannula will need to be passed backwards and forwards to remove all of the loose fat. While this won’t cause you any discomfort during the procedure itself, you will most likely feel slightly sore in the hours and days after your procedure.

Once the treatment is complete, sutures will be used to close the incisions and a dressing and compression garment will be placed over the area. The dressing will help to keep the incisions clean and closed, while the compression garment will help to control swelling and inflammation. You will need to change your dressings as directed and wear your compression garment until otherwise advised as this will help to speed up healing and reduce your risk of complications.

The results of BodyTite

Many patients will start to see the results of their BodyTite procedure within a few hours after their surgery. However, the results of the treatment are progressive and if patients continue to eat healthily, drink plenty of water and maintain their weight over the following months, they will continue to see improvements in their appearance for up to 9 months.
